“Podobri” Foundation is a main coordinator and partner of the programme ABLE Mentor in Shumen.
The primary aim of ABLE Mentor is to connect university students and professionals with students from upper secondary courses in a network for sharing knowledge and experience. Students and mentors are divided into teams of two. 1 mentor and 1 student, based on their common fields of interest. Within 3 months the teams develop their own case study or project which may be in the field of entrepreneurship, personal development or social causes. In the core of ABLE Mentor’s ideas lies the concept of individual mentorship and the importance of building trustful relationships between mentors and students. A main objective of the programme is to increase the knowledge and skills of the students in order to help them make informed decisions about their future.
For 11 seasons, Able Mentor has been successfully implemented in 11 cities in Bulgaria. In Shumen the programme started in 2018 on the initiative of “Podobri” Foundation together with Youth Council Shumen. The main idea of the project is to inspire students to develop in the field they want, giving them the opportunity to gain insight into its hidden mechanisms through visual tutorials and advice from their personal mentors.
Results: for 2018-2019 there were 11 student-mentor pair that completed the programme successfully
For 2019-2020 there are more than 30 students who want to participate, reach their potential and pursue their desired career path.
